"It is time we... realise that having visa restrictions amongst ourselves is working against us," he told an international conference. While there are regional deals and bilateral arrangements, progress towards no restrictions has been slow. Only Seychelles, The Gambia and Benin offer entry to all African citizens without a visa, according to a 2022 AU-backed report. But according to Africa's Visa Openness Index - which measures the extent to which each country in Africa is open to visitors from other African countries - most countries are making progress towards simplifying entry processes and dropping restrictions to some other nations. The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Chairman Wontumi has warned Kennedy Agyapong, the incoming flagbearer of NPP that he will get him arrested if he dares threaten him again. In a press conference, he made it known that he has never insulted Kennedy Agyapong or any other person, neither will he allow anyone to come on air on any of his radio stations or TV stations to insult Kennedy Agyapong  and due to that, he do not understand why Kennedy was throwing insults or attacking him.  A tragic incident happened at the University of Education, Winneba, where a third-year student, Rita, took her own life by hanging in her hostel room. Rita used a rope tied to the ceiling in her hostel room. Rita was pursuing a degree in ICT and was on campus for her mandatory industrial attachment. This sad event took place on October 3, 2023, near Sir Charles Beach in Winneba. The reason for committing the suicide remains unknown. Rita had just arrived on October 2nd to begin her internship, which had started the same day. The ICT department is in shock and has chosen October 3, 2023, as a day to mourn the demise of their fellow student. The authorities have taken her body, and an investigation into the tragedy is being done  to by the Winneba police to get more details including what triggered her in doing that.
