A LEVEL 300 STUDENT OF UEW, HAS KILLED HERSELF BY HANGING HERSELF.

 A tragic incident happened at the University of Education, Winneba, where a third-year student, Rita, took her own life by hanging in her hostel room.


Rita used a rope tied to the ceiling in her hostel room. Rita was pursuing a degree in ICT and was on campus for her mandatory industrial attachment.

This sad event took place on October 3, 2023, near Sir Charles Beach in Winneba. The reason for committing the suicide remains unknown.

Rita had just arrived on October 2nd to begin her internship, which had started the same day.

The ICT department is in shock and has chosen October 3, 2023, as a day to mourn the demise of their fellow student.

The authorities have taken her body, and an investigation into the tragedy is being done  to by the Winneba police to get more details including what triggered her in doing that.
